		<description>Thanks for the tip. In terms of making your own tools around the house, I only know the country living books of Carla Emery (the classic) and John Seymour. Emery has a lot of information, whereas Seymour has nice illustrations. They compliment each other well.</description>

		<description>There is a really cool book about the artist Alexander Calder (of mobiles and stabiles fame) called, "Calder at Home" wherein you learn that if his wife, Louisa, needed any kind of kitchen tool, he would make one out in his shop/studio. The book is filled with pictures of some of these really odd looking spoons and spatulas (not to mention that he made their kitchen cabinets out of shipping crates and olive oil tins pounded flat!).</description>
