Way to go! It seems that you're not out to "get" more readers, so to get them all by no fault of your own must feel pretty cool. I noticed that this weekend your counter read around 490 and I remember thinking to myself... "Wait, didn't he have like 80 last month?" I guess I was right ;) I thought I was just remembering incorrectly.

I am trying to gain more readers by writing good content, and I have seen more and more come my way, but have had no growth like you have! My biggest jump was 50 in one day (I was shocked).

I'm happy for you! What you say has more weight the more subscribers you have - and since I feel you're saying all the right things, I'm more than happy that you are growing your readership :) All in all, congratulations :D

As one of your 500 subscribers, I think I found it via comment on my blog. I eventually subscribed because I thought your writing was, as you indicated, original. So to make it stay that way, stop reading my blog! Oh wait... :)

Jennifer S, I've been noodling on how interesting it would be to be able to record and analyze how each person linked her/his way to a particular blog. I can't remember at all how I got here. ;-\

Have been reading for about 1 month, and also look forward to hearing various minutia and subtleties of the ERE Way.

If I remember correctly, your blog was featured on a news website (Newsweek maybe?). My husband e-mailed me the article and then I found your blog... or maybe another finance blog was featured and that blog had a link to your blog? I just don't remember exactly.

Buddy that's outrageous - 500 RSS subscribers in 4 months? Congrats on the HUGE milestone in such a short amount of time. Keep that rate up, and you'll be up there with the big dogs in no time.

Hi Jacob,

I have been regularly reading your weblog since the past three weeks and have been trying to follow many of the points that you mention here in my life as well. A very refreshing and thought-provoking blog and make sure I read it every day. I presume it is a sermon for many of us who follow your blog regularly.

I envy you for the following:

a) You travel to your office in a bicycle

b) You have hit early-retirement already( I still can't believe you did it.)

c) You have understood the important facets of life and you act upon the things where you need to improve instead of brooding over.

Nevertheless, thank you very much for sharing all these and making a difference in lives of many (532 at least).
