You've been very honest about this whole process, and it sounds like you are having to do the kinds of repairs we've always faced when buying a house. Uh, but don't ever try to separate an American from his/her fridge. My husband is from Norway, and he tried and failed, though I notice his aquavit found its way in there after a while.

Living in RV is not a good idea in my opinion.
Instead, Buy small land and build mini house around 200 square feet, will cost around $40,000.
But you don't have to pay parking rent , you don't have to worry about finding parking space for you RV, you own the land and house and in the first 10 years I'm sure that you don't have to spend you time and money fixing your new small house.

But living in old RV in cost you monthly at least $400/month, would it be better to rent studio apartment at about same cost?
RV living in the long run will cost more and more and at the end it will have next to nothing property value.

@RVEXR - Huh? What are you talking about?

@Daizy - I think if we ever go boondocking, we'll just go fridgeless. Actually I've been thinking of doing that anyway and always rely on fresh food and recently cooked meals but DW isn't into it. To be honest, shopping for groceries daily would also be a hassle.

I completely agree with removing the expensive fridge but what are you going to do when you travel? If I wasn't planning to sell my RV eventually I would take my fridge out too.
