Jacob,

Aren't we being a bit over dramatic? We could easily inflate our money supply by monetizing our debt, which would dilute the value, and then we can hand our Zimbabwe-esque currency over to this next generation so they can pay it off. But we'll need a slow, controlled devaluation so China doesn't get upset.

Now, we just need a Central bank with a leader that's a big enough sucker to think that he's not inflating our money supply when he actually is. Maybe a guy that will stand before the masses and state that we only need one round of these inflationary measures. Then, with a straight face, stand before the masses again and say we need a 2nd round.

Heck, if we can string people along long enough, distract them with useless news/television/fake social problems, and continue to revise previous numbers, then by the time we are on QE26, the unborn generation will be able to pay off their share with 2 hours of work, and still be able to buy a loaf of bread at the end of the month!

Thanks,
Timothy

Why is it that states need to operate on a balanced budget but our feds can go into such deep debt?

Sad but true. Its one of the reasons that goes through my mind when I am saving money, I want to be sure to have plenty of money for my child years from now, because after the fk-ups are done with messing with this country, he's going to need all the help he can get. I want to be sure he can support himself, but at the same time he will deserve a little help.

You can't argue with the truth.

I feel exactly the same way about the so called leaders of my country. They have pawned away our present and future and God knows what kind of life my grandchildren will have.

I have often wondered about this.

And I wonder if it is true that the Phillipines was the richest country in SE Asia until one single leader brought it to a level where it had to send overseas its young ladies as house maids and young men as drivers etc.

(I wonder what the policticians write about themselves in the stuff they bury in the time capsules.)
